Wedding Planning – Where To Begin?

January 26, 2022

First Step: Book A Venue

Once you have a fair idea about your budget along with your wedding requirements, we recommend booking a venue first. You can keep your options open while deciding on a venue such as you could go for a hotel like Sheraton la Guardia near the airport or a 19th-century treasure like the Foundry. Although you'll need to filter the venue according to the guest capacity, food and cuisine they serve, the budget and indoors or outdoors setting requirements among others. Booking a venue could be quite an intimidating process as there are all sorts of important details you’ll need to cover before you finalize the one that best suits your needs. To make the process easier you could consider hiring a wedding planner who will be able to match your needs to the venue requirements.

As Neha from Wedding Wishes says “Each wedding is different and unique in its own way and they aim to fulfil wishes of the couple who have dreamt about their big day!”

Second Step: Arrange A Decorator/Magician

Enhance the beauty of your venue by choosing a specific colour theme or decorating your shaadi mandap the way you want to. Hence, the next step should be to arrange a decorator or the magicians, as you may call them. It is one of the categories that you can keep on improvising for a week or two until your wedding day as you want to make sure that the wedding decor is in the right hands.

Third Step: Finalize Vendors Such as Photographers and Makeup Artists

While finalizing the decor mood board, you can simultaneously begin shortlisting makeup artists, entertainment options and photographers. Don’t forget to choose a talented wedding photographer that you can completely trust. As Satty Sing, famous Indian Wedding Photographer, said "Capturing life long, genuine moments one photograph at a time." Since the wedding photos will be cherished for generations to come, you need to make sure that they turn out to be perfect. The target should be to book these vendors 6 to 8 months before the wedding date as they happen to get booked sooner than others and each one of them has a different style. Hence, choose the one that works the best for your wedding style!

Fourth Step: Caterers

Finalizing the caterers or the food menu with the hotel chef should be the ideal next step. The caterer should be decided fairly 6 months before the wedding day. Are you looking for western cuisine or Indian multi-cuisine or barbeques or live stations? Try to filter these important specifications to reach out to the best caterer and make sure that your guests get to have delicious food at your wedding.

Fifth Step: Shortlist The Detailed Vendors

The detailed vendors are the tough ones to find, eh? Don't worry, we have done the work for you!

Vendors managing visual effects for sangeet or sound and light for your entire wedding, these are the vendors we suggest booking 2 to 3 months before your wedding and finalizing the style with a sound and light engineer. From dhol guys to henna artists or people to tie pagris or drive a rath, we believe 3 months before the wedding is a good time to begin shortlisting the set of detailed vendors or even better to discuss this with your wedding planner.  Is there a vendor you are looking for that you can’t find on our website?
